Creating your own tiles manually or generating them with the randomizer may be a bit much at first. Get your feet wet by selecting one of the hundreds of presets with this dropdown menu.
Diagrams can be rendered at a range of scales to suit your tastes and interests. You can change the rendering scale during or after rendering.
Rendering automatically stops when the canvas is full, so if an interesting diagram is running out of space, you can choose a smaller scale to extend it.
By default, tiles are all given the same color to make it easier to focus on the overall pattern. If you'd like to better see how the different kinds of tiles fit into the diagram, check this checkbox, and each type of tile will be given its own color.
For certain kinds of diagrams based on sixsided tiles, a rendering similar to Celtic knotwork can be generated. Select this checkbox to see if the current diagram is one of them.
By default  when this number is zero  the program will try to fit new tiles into the diagram forever, at least until the screen is full. If you would like a maximum number of tile fitting attempts instead, set it here.
The current clock tick  the count of attempts at adding a tile to the current diagram  is displayed in the lower right corner of the screen. To hide it, uncheck this box.
To save a diagram, there are three options:
The parameters in this section control the behavior of the random tile set generator.
If checked, pairs of polar connectors are constrained to appear in equal numbers.
If checked, requires that each tile is compatible with every other, possibly requiring other tiles as intermediate connectors.
This dropdown determines how many sides each tile has.
Specifies the number of pairs of polar connectors that can be included in the tile set.
Note that this doesn't specify how many pairs will appear in the generated set, just how many can appear.
Specifies the nonpolar connectors that can be included in the tile set.

Specifies the approximate number of tiles that will appear in the generated tile set. Due to the details of the current randomization algorithm, the exact number may be slightly higher or lower than the value set here.
